Doesn’t it confuse you, too? Obama spends a lot of time complaining about how Washington messes everything up from lobbyists to misappropriation of moneys. But, when I read his platform, he wants more Washington involvement.
- he proposes $250 million on public-private business incubators
- he wants to spend $1 billion on career pathways for low-income workers
- he proposes national health care for those without
- he suggests more border agents and more technology will stop illegal immigration
I’m not judging his positions at this point, just confused. You can’t propose greater government involvement and then pan what the government’s done in the past. Well, unless you believe everyone has done it wrong in the past and only you know how to do it right, but that’s not very reasonable. As Margaret Meade said (before Hillary said), It takes a village. Obama is one person, even if it’s the most powerful in the country, and he’ll have to work within the parameters of the American government. Saying they’re lousy parameters sounds like sour grapes, like the kid who wants to take his ball home because the other kids won’t play by his rules.
