Can You Help Me Launch To Hunt a Sub?

submarine 4I’m finally ready to put my thriller, To Hunt a Sub, out there into the marketplace. I have a cover, a good Kirkus review, a blurb, and a modest amount of courage, but I need your help. As a self-pub Indie author, ‘how we roll’ is by spreading the news via word of mouth. Here’s what I’m looking for:

Cover Reveal

Help me show off my shiny new cover (thanks to Paper and Sage) as a prequel to the book launch. I am looking for people to host my cover reveal the first few weeks of July–which I hope will be a few weeks prior to the book launch.

Release Date Blog Post

Post a short note on To Hunt a Sub’s release date, letting your readers know that it is now available at *** (TBA). Feel free to wish me luck! I will return the favor by linking to your blog from mine (or, if you prefer, somewhere else).

Blog Hop

Feature To Hunt a Sub on your blog! This can be posting my blurb, interviewing me, or ??? (your creative approach to helping me launch my book). This should be scheduled for the last few weeks of July, but I’ll let you know as we get closer.

Whichever fits your blog, I am most appreciative of your assistance.  I will return the favor by linking to your blog from mine (or, if you prefer, hosting one of your book launch activities).

If you’re willing to help me launch my first fiction book (unlike the dozens of non-fiction I’ve published–good grief, this is so different!) by telling your community about it, please complete the form below, telling me what part you’d like to participate in:

If you don’t like forms, just send me an email at askatechteacher at gmail dot com. And thank you for your help!

  1. The form wouldn’t let me comment. But I’d be happy to do a blog post to introduce your book on my blog when you’re ready to launch. Just send me a blurb, short bio, book/buy link and any other goodies you’d like me to include. 🙂

    • I sent all the info to your blog’s comment box. It’s unformatted text so if you’d like something easier to read, just email me at askatechteacher at gmail dot com. Thanks so much for offering to help!

  2. There’s a reason I don’t do emails and have that note on the side panel of each post. It’s an agreement I made with the others that use this computer. If they see an email address they don’t know, it is deleted. My site is not business, where as their’s are. So, that’s why I moderate the comments; only you and I can see them until I click approve. It keeps correspondence confidential and I do not interfere with anyone else. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  3. Hi Jacqui,
I’m sorry I am so late in getting back but my office flooded so I have been busy trying to clear it out. Yes, I am willing to help you launch your book. I can do a twitter, book review, and a book launch cover.
I tried to fill out your form but for some reason or another it kept rejecting me.
    All the best.
    Shalom aleichem,
    Patricia

  4. “Hello Jacqui. Congratulations for having submitted your book To hunt a sub to Kindle Scout. Recently I sent one of mine to the program, and at the beginning it was just about sending it and waiting for the results. Even though Amazon tells us that we should boost our campaign by contacting our acquaintances, I found out that being in the Hot & Trending list is what increases the chances of our book being considered for publication.

To accomplish that, I developed a methodology that allowed my book to remain in the H&L 97.9% of the campaign duration, that is 705 out of 720 possible hours. With approximately 250 titles campaigning, being among the 20 most popular is not an easy task. However, by applying said method, based on social networks and email, anyone could push their book into the list and make it stay there.

The interesting thing is that it isn’t necessary to have tons of followers or friends to make it work. Your Twitter and Facebook will help your weapons. You won’t even have to invest money in it, the method proposed in Kindle Scout Hot & Trending List: How to Get (and Stay) There utilizes only free tools.

I invite you to take a look at my book http://amzn.to/296APpa, which you can read in a few hours and implement the method I describe to obtain the best possible results in your To hunt a sub campaign.

I wish you the best of luck in this wonderful initiative and you’re welcome to enter my website http://www.selfpubaid.com. There you will find the book’s trailer and lots of useful information.”

  5. I wasn’t sure if “Cover Reveal was the same as what I’m doing for authors. I will advertise by having the cover of your book on my side bar and having it linked to wherever you are selling the book. If you go peek at my blog, you’ll see a few books listed. Yours would be in the lineup. I give the latest request to top slot. It’ll move down as other books are applied.

    • That form was the hardest part of it! In the next few weeks, I’ll ask for August dates that work for you in the blog hop (I’m planning for an August push) and get you more information before that. You can either simply announce the availability with the materials I send or ask me questions to share with your readers.

Thank you so much for agreeing to help, Susan.

    • Thanks for offering to help. I’d love to swap promotions. I don’t do enough with poetry, so this would be a good opportunity. I don’t see a blog link or an email–can you send those to me? Use my gmail if you’d like–askatechteacher@gmail.com. I’ll get some information out in just a few days about schedules and stuff. Looking forward to helping each other!

    • I have a partial on Kindle Scout starting tomorrow (or full–I really have no idea. It’s my first time on that program). Based on what happens there, I’ll get it onto Kindle Early August. You’ll hear my teeth chattering across the continent.
