I love the USA

Happy July 4th!

july 4thIt’s America’s birthday and I’m celebrating. My Army son’s preparing for his upcoming deployment overseas and my  Navy daughter is doing her thing in Fort Meade, Maryland. I hung the flag over my door and will take a moment to thank both of them and every other service member who accepted the calling to protect our nation’s freedoms.

If you have committed your life to defending this great country, God be with you and the selfless sacrifice you’ve made.

  1. And let us remember and honor the original men and women who thought long and hard about the vagaries of colonization, recognized the need for freedom, understood the sacrifices that would be made, and declared this country to be independent. Every citizen who chooses to be involved by voting, by being informed, by being constructive and responsible deserves to be counted as a contributing member of this country. There is still much to be built and secured. Happy 4th of July to all of us.

      • Since you mentioned it, I’m still looking for the portrait of #1 son (now retired USN firefighter) in his special dress blues and his wife at the Navy Ball. I wanted to post it next to #2 son and his wife. But you’re very welcome to browse. I keep meaning to add a search feature. Hmm… Hey, happy 4th!

  2. Happy 4th July, Jacqui! 😀 Hope you two children are safe – it can’t be easy being a parent with children in the forces. You must be so proud. Love the first video particularly – very clever and the cheeky cat at the end. Also great about the good samaritan rescuing the flag.
