In place of what is a truly awesome question from #IWSG (they always are), I am posting a plea for help in launching my latest prehistoric fiction novel, Against All Odds:
Xhosa’s extraordinary prehistoric saga concludes, filled with hardship, courage, survival, and family.
Based on a true story, this is the unforgettable saga of hardship and determination, conflict and passion as early man tries to make their new home on what we now call the Iberian Peninsula. There, they find enemies as well as help from unexpected sources. To survive, Xhosa and her People must be bigger-than-life and capable of doing the impossible because nothing less than the future of mankind is at stake.
If you’d like to know a little more about Against All Odds, here’s the trailer.
I need your help
I need help in by book’s Book Blast. Here’s how it works:
- You agree to tell your community about my latest book, Against All Odds at some agreeable date between August 3rd – August 14th (or a custom date that works better for you).
- I will include a link to your books and/or your blog post on the Book Blast post which will headline my blog for about two weeks. I want this to work for your marketing as much as mine!
- Once you sign up, I’ll send you everything you need–blurbs, marketing pieces, videos, quotes. You use what you want, what suits your blogging style.
- Just sign up on this Google form.
Before you begin: The form gives you options for what type of post you’d like. I can 1) answer a series of pre-designed questions, 2) be interviewed by you, or 3) send you one of nine newly-written articles about writing. The questions–you won’t know what they are until you get them. The articles–you may choose but it’s first-come-first-served. When I’ve assigned all articles, no one else gets them. I hope this helps to drive traffic to your site to read a fresh, original article.
Here’s the link or fill in the form below:
I’ll publish a list of everyone who’s helping me on my blog with links to your Amazon Author page (or similar) with your latest books as well as to the post. Last year, it looked like this:
If you would like to help (and earn my unmitigated love), please click here or complete the form above to let me know which activity you would like to participate in. I’ll spring for the virtual coffee and cookies for everyone who visits!
Questions? I’m at askatechteacher@gmail.com.
Thanks in advance for signing up!

Hi Jacqui, I’m putting together my launch materials for early September and was wondering if you’d mind if I used some of your ideas from this post. I’ll give you credit for it, of course. I’m trying to do a better job than I have in the past with launching my book and you’re the master!. Does that sound okay?? Let me know. ❤

Absolutely. You’re talking to the woman who liberally borrowed from your PowerPoint trailer idea.
I just finished your new book, Liars and Thieves. Oh my, it was wonderful. I was going to review it on the launch day, on my blog, but should I wait for your official book tour launch? Whichever is fine with me.

That’s awesome, Jacqui. On all counts. I’m so glad you don’t mind that I’m going to mimic your launch. Lol. And I’m so thrilled that you enjoyed the book! That would be wonderful if you reviewed it on launch day. And no need to fill out the “form.” I’m like you in that way – totally flexible and appreciative. You started my day with a big smile. Thank you!

Hi Jacqui – the video is brilliant – very enticing … I congratulate you on that – and thus I’m sure on the series … I’ll be around and commenting – good luck … and all the best in the run up to launch. Take care – Hilary

Congrats on your new book, Jacqui!
I hope to read your trilogy… one of these days.
I’m “put off” Facebook at the moment with all the drama over there, but I can certainly share on Twitter.
Stay safe.

I closed down my writer persona FB page. My personal is still open but… Social media has turned into so much hate speech. Sigh. Pre-thanks for sharing!

Hi Jacqui
I mailed you twice.
I’m not sure if you received the emails because I’m having a problem with the writer-in-transit email address so I replied via webmail.
Perhaps the mail is in your spam folder?
I remember choosing August 05th to help with your book launch because that’s the IWSG Wednesday, the day I normally post.
I’m sure I entered August 05th… didn’t I?
You’ve put me down for August 15th.
Sorry about this.
Warm Regards

Hi Michelle
I’ll take full responsibility. I don’t always get the details right, no matter how hard I try! Do you prefer August 5th? There are three others on that day but I don’t mind moving you. I’m adding pictures of the host’s latest book so that visual I think will grab everyone’s attention (I hope). Let me know. August 6th only has one as does August 1st.
Anything is fine with me. Just let me know what works best for your scheduling.
Thanks again for offering to help with this!

Hi Michelle–got your email and responded. It could be your email but it’s just as likely me. No matter how hard I try, I don’t always get those details right.

Jacqui, I’m so sorry about this.
I’ll have to post tomorrow because I only post once a month, which is on IWSG Day.

No problem at all. I actually moved your date to tomorrow after our last conversation. I’ll see you then!

Thanks, Robbie! I can’t wait for your paranormal western to come out. That sounds really good.

Hi Jacqui, A Ghost and His Gold is about the Anglo Boer War in South Africa. The pioneer situation here was not that dissimilar to the situation in the US but it isn’t a western.

My apologies for that! I saw the cover and leaped to the wrong conclusion. Nevertheless, that era–the Boer Wars–is an amazing time.

No worries, Jacqui. The histories are similar with men on horseback and wagons trekking into the interior.

Jacqui, I’d be more than happy to help, but I don’t have much of a readership these days, especially since I only seem to post on IWSG Wednesdays.

I know the feeling, Ken. Don’t worry about it. It’s not for everyone. It’s is the only marketing arrow in my quiver so I do it!

Hi Jacqui. Congrats on the upcoming release. I’d be happy to have you over in August for a Q & A. You can send all your promo material and I can send you my Q & A sheet you can pick from my questions and add 1 or 2 of your own if you like? 🙂

That would be wonderful. I just read your post about how busy you world has been the last two years. That’s a lot of smoke to have no fire. I think something’s going to happen. If I sign up for the newsletter, will I be notified when your next book is out (in case you switch blogs)? Probably need to do that.

Yes, I plan on sending out a newsletter when The Bone Hunger comes out. If I still remember how to make one. I’ve only sent two out ever. 😄

Hi Jacqui, I filled out the form twice. I clicked the Google sheet to fill out, then came back to your blog and found the spreadsheet from last year. After I looked at it and saw that you have one column for the blog and another column for the social media. I filled out the form the second time instead of just adding the social media link in the comment knowing you’d be busy. You could just delete the first form.

I saw that! No worries. Forms are always confusing. A lot of people just send me an email!

Hi Jacqui, I’m taking a month-long blog break in August through Labor Day weekend. I would love to help in September with one of the ideas if you need more exposure then. I would definitely read and review on Amazon and Goodreads in the meantime. Let me know how I can help. And huge congrats! I’m looking forward to Xhosa’s next installment!

How about if I send you the materials. I can list you (with the links to your books) for a day in September. I actually like that idea. Spread out the excitement.
