I love the USA

Happy America’s Birthday–July 4th!

It’s America’s birthday and I’m celebrating. My Army Staff Sergeant son is finally home from several tours in Japan–Okinawa. My Navy CDR daughter’s still in the DC area in the next of her long line of Navy jobs. They do not leave her in one position for long! I thank both of them and all those soldiers who fought for America’s uncertain future so long ago.

God be with all of us.

I was going to replace this next one but it’s been viewed by

30 million+ people!

I couldn’t find a better celebratory song.

I want to include all my efriends from Canada in the celebrations though I’m a few days late for Canada Day:

July 1 is Canada Day. It commemorates the joining of Canada’s original three provinces (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the Canada province, which is now Ontario and Quebec) as one nation in 1867. The holiday was previously called Dominion Day, for the Dominion of Canada in the British empire.

  1. Hi Jacqui, wonderful that your son is finally back home. Yes, in the Navy it changes every three years. Our CDR son is working like crazy in Norfolk. I loved the videos in your post!

  2. Happy Independence Day, dear Jacqui. This is my first real celebration (with fireworks) since I became a US citizen! 🙂 It’s just too bad our dog doesn’t do well during these days of constant firecrackers and fireworks. So, it’s with mixed feeling we spent this time in a town and not in nature somewhere.

  3. Happy July 4th to you and your family. Thanks for including our Independence Day as well. It does tend to get overshadowed. Many homes in Canada fly both flags at this time of the year. The Peace Arch border crossing BC/Washington State has inscribed on one side – “Children of a common mother” and on the other – “Brethren dwelling together in unity”. I always liked that. xo
